Jim Gordon revelation scene in The Dark Knight (Spoiler)

I watched The Dark Knight on the day of release. One of my favourite scenes in the film was when Harvey Dent is riding in the police van, driven by a man whose face is covered. Batman is chasing the Joker in the lorry, all that is going on, and then the van with Dent inside pulls over to help him. The penger yells at the masked driver (wanting to know why he pulled over) and then the masked driver pulls off his mask and it's Jim Gordon! Back from the dead. OMG, amazing scene. Alright. I have subsequently been back to the cinema with friends to see the film again and both times when the van pulls over and the panger yells, the clip where the drivers pulls off his mask is skipped. You don't know it's Jim Gordon until he presses a gun to the Joker's neck. I'm so confused. Did I imagine the revelation clip, where the driver pulls of his mask or has it, for some reason, but cut from the film?
