What are the key tools and/or framework used by a Strategic Planner?

I need ytical tools used in the Private Equity / Investment Holding firm so that I can apply it in my place of employment. Any insight or ideas are welcome. I have used the Multifactor Matrix, BCG Matrix, SWOT, and Porter Model. I need more ideas to apply. Thanks.
