How long doest it take for my period to stop?

i have had messed up periods for awhile now and my gyno gave me bc pills to regulate i have been on my period now for 10days and she said to start a new pill pack on saturday which was yesterday and it will stop the bleeding i wanna know how long it will take so today i took my second one and my period acts like it doesnt want stop at all some days are light and some days are not especially when i have been laying for awhile and get up then it wants to gush out im tired of bleeding i had period in july that lasted till i went to the doctor in august she gave me bc and i started and then stopped after 4 days so i did have a little break but now it is back and started a new pill pack im ready for it to stop
